Better World Books... by the Numbers!

We really like to see results here at Better World Books, so we've put together some metrics for everyone to see just how their contribution can and does help.

Since our inception in 2003 to February 2007, we have:

  • Been active in collecting books from over 1,000 colleges and universities and over 500 libraries in North America
  • Saved more than 8 million pounds of books from landfills
  • Raised more than $2 million for approximately 80 non-profits focused on literacy and education; specifically:
    • Raised more than $1.2 million for Books For Africa
    • Raised more than $203,000 for Room to Read
    • Raised more than $233,000 for the National Center for Family Literacy
    • Raised more than $8,000 for Worldfund
    • Raised more than $65,000 locally for the Robinson Community Learning Center
  • Donated more than 460,000 books to Books for Africa, the National Center for Family Literacy, and Feed the Children
  • Contributed more than $690,000 to college and university service clubs and volunteers who have run book drives for BWB
