My name is Abby LaCombe and I’m the Director of the Mountain Region, which includes New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Alberta, Canada.
I am a 2006 graduate of Iowa State University (Go Cyclones!), where I studied Animal Ecology, Political Science, and Sociology. ISU gave me many opportunities to become involved in a variety of progressive causes and social activities as well as meet a variety of awesome people. I strongly believe the first step toward social change is literacy and I am therefore very excited to be working for Better World Books. I love the driven and forward-thinking attitude of college students and am super excited to be able to continue working with them to help improve our world.
I love live music (especially outside music festivals!). Hiking, swimming, and playing outdoors in general are also top favorites. Otherwise, I like to read, watch Law & Order, travel, participate in a good public policy/general political/or philosophical discussion. Sewing, knitting, and plant-growing also top my list of fun activities, although I won’t claim to have too much skill in those arenas.
If you have any questions about Better World Books, or are interested in becoming a campus rep, please feel free to contact me at: abbyrae@betterworldbooks.com. I look forward to working with you!
