Summer Reading Program
The Summer Reading Program of New York state, which provides a professional quality reading program to 1,200 public libraries, branch libraries and reading centers – a resource that many small or remote libraries otherwise could not afford. www.nysl.nysed.gov/libdev/summer/
Robinson Community Learning Center
Robinson Community Learning Center, in South Bend, Indiana, is an education outreach effort of the University of Notre Dame that was opened in February 2001. They offer after school programs and mentoring, language and computer classes, as well as job training initiatives, and much more.
Robinson Community Learning Center is where it all began for Better World Books. Our first book drive benefited the Robinson Center and its storage room was our initial warehouse. Located in South Bend, Indiana and affiliated with the University of Notre Dame, the Robinson Center offers after school programs, mentoring, language and computer classes, job training initiatives and more. As of September 2007, Better World Books has raised more than $70,000 for the Robinson Center. www.nd.edu/~rclc/
Prison Book Program
The Prison Book Program gets books into the hands of inmates. A grassroots organization operating on a shoestring budget, the organization’s partnership with Better World Books has provided a stable source of funding – raising $14,478.44 thus far. www.prisonbookprogram.org
